What’’s What and What to Do about It

Imaginary advice columnist Waldo Mellon offers humor and wisdom as a balm for the anxieties of life.Dear Abby, Dear Ann Landers... make room for Dear Waldo, the imaginary advice columnist of the woes and foibles of human existence from screenwriter Steve Adams. Dear Waldo, My moron brother Lance

is obsessed with the idea that there’s millions and millions of other planets with life on them. How do I break the news to him it isn’t so?Sincerely, Bruno Dear Bruno, Before I answer your question, I’d like to point out that there is no such thing as a moron or an idiot or an imbecile. There are o

nly living things that know different things than you know.To answer your question, let’s take a look at this thing called Life that your brother is talking about. Of course there’s a much earlier model of Living Things: Plants. The basic different between Animals and Plants is that Animals are cord

less, whereas Plants have to be plugged in... Dear Waldo, I have done a horrible thing. It’s such a horrible thing that I can’t tell anybody. I’m hoping you can help me.Anonymous Dear Anonymous, Unless you’re born and then die real quick, you will live to do what you think are horrible things. May I

take me, for instance? Here I am taking my brother’s bunny out of the cage and I’m throwing him up and I’m letting him land on the floor. Over and over. It couldn’t move its hind legs after that. A few days later my father poured some chloroform on to a rag and put the rag and the bunny into a shoe

box and held it tight until everything stopped moving...In my opinion we all have a Treasure Box in our heads. It’s where we store our essence: The greatest of our great pleasures, our proud moments, and great sorrows. So why not place into that same Treasure Box the most horrible of our horrors?Ano

nymous, answer honestly: which has done a better job of sharpening your focus--the good things you’ve done, or the bad things? And so, Anonymous, that horrible thing you did that broke no laws and hurt no one but yourself? Toss it in your Treasure Box and move on.Your fan, Waldo Mellon

-Lyric-

I'll never come back here again
Empty memories
No words can explain it enough
Burnin` inside me like the sun
I want you but no second chance
Remember our days
I was really dumb before
Honestly now I miss you more

Now everything’s so far away
I’m so lonely
I’ve never felt this way
Don’t want to live with regrets

Won’t you come back here to me
I will see you in your dreams
I can feel you even though you are gone
I’ve been searching for a way
Another you is not the same
I’ma make it through and live one more day
In dreams give me a piece of your mind
Stay here with me for one last joy ride

Just fine
Gonna find

I’m gonna find a way
I won't waste all the pain you've given me
standing strong
to learn from suffering
just live day by day

Won’t you come back here to me
I will see you in your dreams
I can feel you even though you are gone
I’ve been searching for a way
Another you is not the same
I’ma make it through and live one more day
In dreams give me a piece of your mind
Stay here with me for one last joy ride

What does it take to say "F-it " and really mean it? To walk away from the circumstances that have you stuck in neutral, or worse, headed in the wrong direction? To reroute your life along a smoother path toward success? To live an "F"-It-Less life?Shaun Rawls, popular motivational speaker and found

er of Atlanta's #1 real estate firm, discovered the answers to those questions and more during one of the most trying, yet triumphant periods of his life. After unexpectedly finding love and consequentially navigating a divorce, the life he knew changed. Even when you are the one to implement such c

hange, it can feel like a punch in the gut, especially when those you care about and with whom you share history are affected. In his attempt to minimize disruption to the company and his wife's livelihood, Rawls' divorce included handing over to her the operational responsibilities of the successfu

l business they had built together. During this transition, he discovered a whole new lexicon of "F" words more powerful than the one we all know. Employing each thoughtfully and practically in his life, he began to craft the existence he had always dreamed of. Words such as "fragmented," "frustrate

d," "fractured," and "failed" helped him identify where he was in the moment and to earnestly assess where he'd gone wrong in the past. In time he enjoyed days that were "fine" or even "fantastic." Prioritizing words such as "float," "family," "faith," "fun," and "freedom" reminded him of his destin

ation, while words such as "find," "forgive," "forget," "fix," and "foxhole" helped him to get there faster. What he now knows is that these F-words can align us with our purpose and goals, enabling us to live a more intentional and rewarding life. In this infinitely empowering book, Rawls encourag

es you to use these words to examine your own life--to see if it is one you've consciously crafted or one you simply allowed to unfold. To decide whether you're living how you really want to or if there is still much roadwork to be done. To truly listen to your heart and gut, and to honestly acknowl

edge the areas of your life where you've compromised love and happiness for money, safety, security, or--worse--fear. He coaxes you not to let your best life pass you by, but rather to proactively attain the life you really want. By sharing some of his greatest lessons, Rawls, who is happily remarri

ed and enjoying his expanded family and career, aims to help you avoid some of the same landmines he encountered and to live what he refers to as an "F-it-less" life--the life we're all entitled to discover, explore, and fulfill for ourselves. Saying "F-it " doesn't always mean you are giving in or

giving up. With the right tools, it can actually mean you are ready to pursue a better life--one of greater ease, meaning, and purpose--a truly "F"-It-Less life. Shaun Rawls is the founder and CEO of Rawls Consulting, a progressive, growth-minded organization that invests in people, businesses, a

nd all aspects of residential and commercial real estate. Rawls is a highly sought-after national speaker. Rawls spent 25 years working in real estate, ultimately building Atlanta’s #1 residential real estate firm, The Rawls Group of Keller Williams. Having met many of his professional goals, Rawls

made a deliberate choice to shift his attention out of the daily operations of his firm and into new ways he could add even more value to others. The Rawls Group of Keller Williams has over 2,000 agents producing more than $4 billion in annual sales. It consistently ranks among the best-performing

companies in the Keller Williams system. The Rawls Group won the award for Atlanta’s Best Place to work among all companies in Georgia for an unprecedented five years in a row from 2009 to 2013. In addition to his Atlanta-based real estate empire, Shaun traveled the country as a national speaker,

trainer, and consultant for Keller Williams and was a co-regional owner in Keller Williams in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut from 2010 to 2015. He has been recognized by Real Trends as one of the Top 40 real estate brokers in America and one of the Top 200 most powerful people in real estate

by Swanepoel. Shaun is married to Jeri and they live in Atlanta, Georgia, together with their blended family, which is comprised of five beautiful children: Noble, Steel, Jacob, Andrew, and Sarah. Shaun enjoys spending time with his family at the beach, riding his motorcycle, playing tennis, travel

ing, being active, and living life to the fullest. Shaun has an Industrial Management degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Laura Morton is a twenty-time New York Times bestselling author who has written more than fifty books with celebrities including Justin Bieber, Al Roker, Melissa Et

heridge, Susan Lucci, John Maxwell, and many more. She is currently producing Anxious Nation, a feature documentary on anxiety and kids.
